It has been referred to as postnatal depression whose reasons vary from hormonal downturn after delivery, reduced feeling of self-worth, too much apprehension for the baby, questioning one's look, unexpected changes in life due to the baby, continuous sleep loss, self-doubting on the capability of taking care of the baby etc. Sometimes it may continue for months even up to a year. According to WHO, the estimated prevalence of postpartum depression has been given as 100-150 per 1000 births worldwide
